Overview

If you have a sudden travel need as per one of the standards listed below,

Then, you may be fit for a speed-up session depending on the vacancy at the Embassy or Consulate.

However, it is important to ensure you meet all the standards.

Hence, this is because applicants are only allowed to create one speed-up session request.

Qualifications

Hence, before you apply for a speed-up session,

You must ensure that you have written proof to prove the haste.

However, if it appears during your visa interview that you tampered with the reasons for a speed up travel,

Such facts will be noted on your case file.

Hence, this may unduly affect the outcome of your visa appeal.

On the other hand, all applicants in need of a speed-up session are needed to first pay visa fees for a normal visa session.

In the same vein, applicants who are granted a speed-up session,

But in the end, refused a visa at either the U.S. Embassy in Abuja or the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos,

Will not be allowed to put to use this option in either region to obtain another speed-up session.

Please Note: To travel for the purpose of weddings and graduation ceremonies does not fit for a speed-up session.

On the other hand, helping pregnant relatives, and engaging in an annual business/academic/pro congress does not fit for a speed-up session.

In other words, enjoying last-minute tourism does not fit for a speed-up session.

However, for such travel, make sure you plan a normal visa session in advance.

ESTA Denied

Hence, you may request a speed-up visa session if you are a citizen of a Visa Waiver Program partner.

But, you have received notice that you are no longer fit to travel to the US under that program.

However, such tourists include those who are dual nationals of Iraq, Iran, Sudan, or Syria.

On the other hand, also those who have traveled to Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Syria, Libya, Yemen, or Somalia after March 1, 2011.

In the same vein, your travel must be at hand to fit for a speed-up session.

In other words, please make sure include in your request the date and purpose of your travel.

Vital proof:

A copy of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection message you got in response to your ESTA status.

VWP travel info:

Hence, as of April 1, 2016, those who are able to travel to the US via the Visa Waiver Program must have a valid electronic passport.

However, this rule applies even to those who possess a valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA).

In addition, nationals of VWP countries who have traveled to, or been present in,

Iraq, Iran, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and/or Yemen on or after March 1, 2011,

Are no longer fit to travel or be brought into the US under the VWP.

On the other hand, dual nationals of VWP countries and Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Sudan,

Are also no longer fit to travel or be brought into the US under the VWP.

In the same vein, this cutback does not apply to VWP tourists, whose presence in any of those countries,

Was to carry out special force service in the armed forces of a VWP country.

Or, in order to carry out official duties as a full-time employee of the government of a VWP country.

However, the clerk of Homeland Security may waive this VWP limit.

But, if he decides that such a waiver is in the law enforcement or national security interests of the US,

Hence, such waivers will be granted only on a case-by-case basis.

As a general matter, categories of tourists who may be fit for a waiver include:

  • Individuals who have traveled to Iraq, Iran, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and/or Yemen

On behalf of global groups, regional groups, or sub-national governments on official duty

  • On the other hand, also individuals who have traveled to Iraq, Iran, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and/or Yemen on behalf of generous non-governmental groups

An updated ESTA appeal form is available.

However, the new form contains extra questions to address the new travel fitness needed to be called for in the Act.

On the other hand, we encourage tourists seeking an ESTA to use the enhanced system, which will help in making private checks on the future granting of a waiver.

Hence, there is no separate appeal for a waiver.

Current ESTA holders should check their ESTA status prior to travel on CBP’s website with ease via this link https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/.
